The Broward County Tax Certificate Sale will open for bidder registration
Friday, May 3, 2019. Bidder registration will only be
available during business hours (8:00am to 5:00pm EST, Monday -
The deadline to complete bidder registration and submission of required
deposits is Friday, May 17, 2019, 5:00 p.m. (EST).
The sale will be conducted May 23 through May 24, 2019.
Each and every bidder (hereafter end user, bidding entity, you, user, or
person) desiring to bid in the 2019 Broward County Tax Certificate Sale
must agree to the terms and conditions of this policy and must execute
the Participating Bidder Declaration concerning fair bidding practices.
For the 2019 auction, all bidder accounts are required to be
registered independently (no Bidding Groups), as all
registered bidders will be treated equally under the same rules and
regulations to promote equity and the fair acquisition of tax
The Tax Collector requires each bidder to pay a qualified deposit
equal to the greater of: $2,000 or 10% of the total aggregate dollar
value of tax certificates on which the Bidding Entity intends to win.
The 2019 tax certificate sale shall be conducted in accordance with
Florida Statutes. The tax certificate sale will be uniform, fair,
efficient, and accountable for all bidders registered to bid in the sale.
Each and every bidder may register to bid so long as the Bidder complies
with Florida law and Broward County policy. The Broward County Records,
Taxes and Treasury Division (Tax Collector) reserves the right to require
an affidavit or additional information from any Bidder.
By registering in the 2019 Broward County Tax Certificate Sale, any
bidder automatically agrees and certifies that they will abide by the
Internal Revenue Service policies concerning Employee Identification
Numbers. Each certificate shall be awarded to the person who will
pay the taxes, interest, costs, charges and who will demand the lowest
rate of interest, not in excess of the maximum rate of interest allowed by
Florida law. Any person who fails or refuses to pay for any awarded bid is
not entitled to have any other bid accepted or enforced except as
authorized by the Tax Collector, and shall forfeit the minimum required
Please be advised that failure to file a sworn Participating Bidder Declaration or filing a false Participating Bidder Declaration will result in the bidder being disqualified from this years tax certificate sale and may result in the bidder being barred from subsequent tax certificate sales.
